Objective To have knowledge about the self safety protection awareness and behavior of nursing staff in physical examination department so as to provide theoretical basis for improving occupational safety of nursing staff in physical examination department.Method 60 nursing staff in physical examination department of hospital at all levels in Bao’an District

Shenzhen were chosen and they were surveyed with self-designed questionnaires

in which the mastering and application of knowledge about infection prevention was included.Results Awareness rate of standard prevention knowledge in regulations for hospital Infection management of nursing staff reached 63.3%

6.6% but there were relatively large errors between preventive measures and proper implementation

and the proportion of operating in accordance with regulations was relatively low;the longer they worked

the stronger self-protection awareness they had.Conclusion The nursing staff has insufficient self safety protection awareness

and the most outstanding issue is that they don’t operate regularly according to standards.Nursing staff should be required to nurse in strict accordance with the working process in order to reduce occupational risk of nursing staff in physical examination department and ensure medical safety.
