Objective To probe into the characteristics of professional commitment and learning burnout of university students.Method 756 university students were surveyed with University Students’ Professional Commitment Scale and University Students’ Learning Burnout Scale.Results The level of professional commitment among university students was above the average and the degree of learning burnout was relatively high.Professional commitment level of female students was higher than that of male students（p<0.01） and the degree of emotional depression in female students was lower than that in male students（p<0.01）.Affective commitment of the senior was higher than that of the sophomore and the junior（p<0.05）.Affective commitment

ideal commitment and sense of achievement in students majoring in science and engineering were lower than those in students majoring in literature

history and arts（p<0.01）;affective commitment of normal students was lower than that of non-normal students（p<0.05）.Conclusion Professional commitment and learning burnout of university students vary by sex

subject and major.
