Objective To investigate the efficacy of famotidine at draught in the treatment of peptic ulcer.Method 110 cases of active ulcer without complications confirmed by endoscope were randomly divided into two groups treated with famotidine for 6 weeks:one troup with 58 cases taking 40mg at a draught every night while the other group with 52 cases taking 20mg twice per day.Clinical efficacy

adverse reaction and semi-annual relapse rate were observed.Results The cured rate was 65.5% in group at one draught

while 69.2% in the other group.There was no significant difference between them（χ2=1.06

P>0.05）;The types and incidence rate of adverse reaction in group at one draught were less or lower than that in the other group.The difference in semi-annual relapse rate between two groups did not have statistic significance（P>0.05）.Conclusion The efficacy of administration at one draught and in conventional way for peptic ulcer treatment are about the same.But the former administration method has mild side effect

less oral administration times and thus is accepted readily by patients

so it should be recommended for a wider use and further assessment.
