Objective
2
To explore the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in miRNA and the risk of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Methods
2
A total of 13 candidate SNPs of different miRNA genes were identified by bioinformatics analysis. A case-control study was performed in 626 patients with NSCLC and 736 controls. Genomic DNA was extracted from peripheral blood cells
and the S
NPs were genotyped by SNPscan
TM
system. A multivariate logistic regression analysis was applied to evaluate the association between NSCLC risk and each selected SNP in miRNA level.
Results
2
Of the 13 SNPs
3 (rs62085660
rs11597888
and rs16867808) showed significant association with NSCLC risk
and this association was limited to specific subgroup of subjects. The SNP rs62085660 (C/G) showed a significant association with the risk of lung squamous carcinoma (additive model:

Conclusion
2
rs62085660 SNP may contribute to genetic susceptibility to lung squamous carcinomas
and rs16867808 SNP to genetic susceptibility to NSCLC in smoking population.
