Objective To observe the bacteriostatic effect of compound ornidazole and pefloxacinmesylate sustained-release gum suppository. Methods The sustained-release
sensitive stability of bacteria
ground substance effect of the suppository were tested by using Kirby-Bauer paper dispersed method. Results The gum suppository had significant bacteriostatic effect on
Porphyromonsa gingivals
and other bacteria. The sustained-release time was above 12 h. The gum suppository still had bacteriostatic effect after preserved for 6 months at 4 ℃
with no significant difference in compared with 6 months before
. The ground substance effect test discovered that the bacteriostatic effect of adding ground substance group was weaker than that of no adding ground substance group to
Staphylococcus aureus
Porphyromonsa gingivals
Fusobacterium nucleatum
Peptostreptococcus spp
(
P
<0.05)
but the bacteriostatic effect was no significant different between adding ground substance group and no adding ground substance group to
Staphylococcus epidermidis
Prevotells intermedia
and
Streptococcus mutans
. Conclusion Compound ornidazole and pelfloxacinmesylate sustained-release gum suppository had significant bacteriostatic effect
