Objective To investigate the relative risk factors for coronary artery instent restenosis (ISR) via a retrospective analysis of patients with coronary angiography after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods A total of 1 136 patients (835 males and 301 females
at an average age of 61.61±12.32) who undergoing coronary stent implantation in our cardiology department of the first affiliated hospital from January 2007 to May 2015 and then received coronary angiography in 8 to 12 months’ follow-up were subjected in this study. According to the results of coronary angiography
they were divided into ISR group (n=72) and non-ISR group (n=1 064). Risk factors for cardiovascular diseases
clinical complications
medications and relevant parameters of interventional therapy were recorded in both groups and analyzed for the relevant factors causing ISR. Results The incidence of ISR was 6.3% in the study. There were significant differences in smoking
diabetes
dyslipidemia
hypertension
poor medication compliance
long and multi-vessel lesions
diameter and length of stent
and minimal luminal diameter (MLD) between the ISR group and the non-ISR group (P0.05). And also
significant difference was found in the percentage of the patients with long-term regular uses of aspirin
clopidogrel and large dosage satins between the ISR group and non-ISR groups (P0.05). Conclusion Post-procedure restenosis in the patients with coronary heart disease after PCI is the result arose from multiple clinical factors
and associated with uncontrolled cardiovascular risk factors
antiplatelet therapy and statins compliance as well as the characteristics of implanted lesions. Well control of the risk factors and improved medication compliance maybe effectively reduce the rate of ISR.
