Objective      To investigate the causes and surgical approach of intraocular lens (IOL) dislocation.       Methods      According to clinical data of 34 patients (34 eyes) with IOL dislocation

the causes of dislocation were analyzed. The surgical approach involved vitrectomy

IOL removal

IOL scleral fixation and joint vitreoretinal surgery.       Results      IOL dislocation was mainly caused by the suspensory ligament rupture

and the patients undergoing vitrectomy were prone to IOL dislocation. Twenty-eight cases underwent IOL fixation surgery

2 cases showed slight deviation of IOL

and 4 cases did not implant IOL. The visual acuity increased or remained in the 34 cases.       Conclusion      IOL dislocation is mainly caused by the suspensory ligament rupture

and the patients receiving vitrectomy are prone to IOL dislocation. The patients with IOL dislocation should choose proper surgical methods to get satisfactory visual acuity improvement.
