Objective To evaluate clinical value of left ventricle opacification (LVO) in the diagnosis of left ventricular regional wall motion abnormalities (RWMA) through analyzing the results of two-dimensional echocardiography (2DE)
LVO and coronary angiography in the patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods The ultrasonic data of 2DE
RT-3DE and LVO of 48 patients preliminarily diagnosed with CHD were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients were examined by coronary angiography after echocardiography. The results of the 3 ultrasonic methods were respectively compared with the coronary angiographic results. The accuracy of 3 three ultrasonic methods in diagnosing RWMA was evaluated. Results The endocardium visualization rate of LVO was 100%
significantly higher than 90.56% of 2DE and 91.05% of RT-3DE. The diagnosis accuracy of LVO was 93.75% (95.83%)
significantly higher than 89.58% (86.80%) of 2DE or 90.28% (90.97%) of RT-3DE. Conclusion LVO can greatly improve the diagnosis of RWAM through enhancing the endocardium visualization effect.
