and VIP were searched with relevant terms (to Nov. 2013). Cohort study of green tea and gastric cancer risk was included. RevMan 5.2 software was used for statistical analysis. Results Twelve cohort studies met inclusion criteria were analyzed. The results of meta analysis of crude data indicated that the gastric cancer risk of the population with the highest intake of green tea had statistically significant difference with that with the lowest intake of green tea (RR=1.34
95%CI: 1.10-1.65
P=0.005). There was no statistical difference
however
when data was adjusted (RR=1.02
95%CI: 0.94-1.11
P=0.67). The results from subgroup analysis indicated that the highest intake of green tea could reduce the risk of gastric cancer among female participants. Conclusion Long time consumption of green tea may reduce the risk of gastric cancer for female participants
