Objective        To investigate the ultrasonographic features of locally recurrent breast cancer after mastectomy.       Methods       Clinical data and ultrasonographic features in the 63 cases with pathologically confirmed local recurrence after mastectomy

who examined in the department of ultrasonography in Chongqing Cancer Institute from May to November in 2010 were retrospectively analyzed. And the features of the two-dimensional ultrasonography and the color Doppler flow imaging were summarized.       Results       The accurate diagnostic rate was 95%. Two cases were misdiagnosed as chest wall scar

and one case as chest wall lymphangitis. Two-dimensional ultrasonographic features of these cases were divided into 3 types: irregular mass type (75%)

homogeneous nodular type (21%)

and dense infiltrating type (4%). Color Doppler flow showed that blood flow detection rate of 81 tumor lesions was 86%

and 68% of them were in grade Ⅰ

and 18% in grade Ⅱ. The arterial flow spectrum in the grade Ⅰ and Ⅱ lesions were 9.13±2.26 cm/s for peak systolic velocity

and (0.60±0.07) for resistance index.       Conclusion      Ultrasonography is of certain value for early detection of breast cancer local recurrence

and provides accurate information for clinical diagnosis.
