Objective   To evaluate the clinical efficacy of thoracic and lumbar tuberculosis treated with titanium mesh combined with anterior internal fixation system.    Methods   Totally 46 patients with spinal tuberculosis admitted in our department from April 2004 to March 2009 underwent anterior fusion internal fixation combined with titanium mesh. They were followed up for a mean duration of 11 months (ranging from 6 to 20 months). Routine anti-tuberculous therapy was carried out. The clinical status

the clinical signs and neurological deficits were significantly improved postoperatively

and no any implant broken or loosen was found.    Conclusion   The method can provide good stability for thoracic and lumbar reconstruction and obtain clinical efficacy.
