Objective To observe the changes of visual function after excimer laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) for high anisometropic amblyopia in children
and evaluate the efficacy
safety of LASIK. Methods We used prospective nonrandomized self-controlled trial in this study. Seventy-two children of high anisometropic amblyopia were divided into myopia group and hypermetropia group. The best corrected visual acuity (BCVA)
incongruous images
simultaneous perception
range of fusion
stereopsis and pattern visual potential (P-VEP) were recorded before and after LASIK and were statistically analyzed. The follow-up time was 36 months. Results At 36 months
BCVA
UCVA
incongruous images
simultaneous perception
rang
e of fusion
stereopsis improved greatly. The amplitude P100 wave was gradually elevated and latency was gradually shortened. The latency and amplitude P100 wave was optimal at postoperative 24
th
month. Conclusion LASIK can improve the visual function of high anisometropic amblyopia in children and is effective in correcting amblyopia.
