A qualitative study on the experience of virtual reality-assisted specialized training in a blood purification center
To explore the experience of nurses in a blood purification center participating in specialized training assisted by virtual reality (VR) technology
and provide a reference for optimizing the training program.
Methods
2
Using purposive sampling
a total of 10 nurses from the Blood Purification Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital
Peking Union Medical College
Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences were consecutively enrolled from November to December 2025 as study subjects. Based on Kolb's experiential learning theory
a 4-week VR-assisted specialized training program was implemented. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi's seven-step analysis method.
Results
2
Four themes were extracted
including the application value of VR-assisted specialized training
immersive and interactive enhancement of training experience
practical barriers to VR training
and expectations for the optimization of VR-assisted specialized training.
Conclusions
2
Nurses in the blood purification center showed high acceptance and positive evaluation of VR-assisted specialized training
which helps improve their practical skills. However
deficiencies remain in device comfort
resource availability
and humanistic care. It is necessary to focus on nurse training experience
establish a standardized quality control system
and deepen the integration of technology and humanistic care.
