The curriculum systems of social welfare majors in Japan and its implications for China's elderly care service management major
Japan is one of the countries with the most severe population aging in the world
and social welfare workers are the main workforce in its elderly care service management. By analyzing the curriculum systems of social welfare specialties at three major welfare universities in Japan
this study revealed that Japan has established curriculum systems centered on the curriculum required for the national examination for social welfare workers
supplemented by characteristic curriculums offered by individual universities. Practical teaching emphasizes enhancing student experience and problem-solving ability. The undergraduate major in elderly care service management was established in China in 2020. Due to its short history
there are currently no unified talent cultivation standards. This major can draw on the experience of social welfare major construction in Japan. At the industry level
it is necessary to align with market demands
improve the industry-collaborative education mechanism
and build a tripartite talent cultivation system for elderly care service management integrating position
qualification
and curriculum. At the institutional level
efforts should focus on standardizing core disciplinary curriculums
establishing a whole-process
multi-scenario practical teaching system
strengthening humanistic literacy and professional ethics education
and promoting differentiated development among colleges and universities.
