Practice effectiveness of a 3D digital specimen-integrated classroom based on the technology acceptance model in teaching the course Normal Human Morphology
To investigate the practical application effectiveness of a 3D digital physical specimen platform in teaching the course Normal Human Morphology for midwifery majors based on the technology acceptance model (TAM)
analyze the key factors influencing usage behavior of students
and provide empirical evidence for course teaching reform.
Methods
2
Students enrolled in 2022 (
n
=59) and 2023 (
n
=58) in a midwifery program at a medical university were selected as the control group and the experimental group
respectively. The control group received conventional online-offline blended teaching. The experimental group received blended teaching and an integrated classroom constructed with deep integration of the digital 3D physical specimen platform (Cloud Anatomy) and supplementation with the gesture simulation method. Teaching effectiveness was evaluated by comparing the scores on phased theoretical tests
experimental tests
and final theoretical examinations between the two groups. Student feedbac
k and behavioral intention were analyzed using a teaching satisfaction questionnaire
a competency improvement scale
and a TAM-based structural equation model. Independent samples
t
-tests were performed using SPSS 21.0
and path analysis was conducted using AMOS 24.0
with a significance level of
α
=0.05.
Results
2
The experimental test score of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group [(75.23±6.14) vs. (69.18±7.23)
t
(115)=4.88
P
<

]
. Questionnaire surveys showed that the experimental group had significantly higher recognition in understanding of knowledge points
construction of knowledge system
and teacher-student interaction (
P
<
0.05). TAM analysis indicated that perceived ease of use positively influenced perceived usefulness (
β
=0.751
P
<
0.001). These two factors jointly drove student satisfaction (
β
=0.898
P
<
0.001;
β
=0.832
P
<
0.001) and were translated into actual usage behavior through behavioral intention to use (
β
=0.821
P
<
0.001).
Conclusions
2
In Normal Human Morphology teaching
integrating the 3D digital physical specimen platform with instructional designs such as the gesture simulation method can effectively enhance the morphological cognitive ability and course performance of midwifery students. The TAM verifies the acceptability and effectiveness of this model
providing theoretical support for optimizing the promotion and application path of digital intelligence teaching tools. This model can serve as an effective strategy for integrated classroom reform in midwifery education.
