Application effect of the first-aid training system for combat maxillofacial trauma based on virtual reality
To investigate the application effect of the first-aid training system for combat maxillofacial trauma based on virtual reality (VR) technology in the teaching practice of undergraduate trainees.
Methods
2
A total of 40 undergraduate trainees who participated in the battlefield first-aid training of combat maxillofacial trauma in Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery were randomly divided into experimental group (VR teaching) and control group (traditional teaching)
and both groups were taught and trained for the same credit hours. Theory assessment
skill assessment
and a questionnaire survey were performed to assess the effect of teaching
and SPSS 26.0 was used to perform the chi-square test and the
t
-test.
Results
2
Compared with the control group
the experimental group had significantly better theoretical assessment score [(88.50±4.32) vs. (84.75±3.78)
t
=2.92
P
=0.006
]
and skill assessment score [(90.80±3.35) vs. (86.85±4.51)
t
=3.14
P
=0.003
]
. The results of the questionnaire survey showed that for the 10 items involved
the experimental group had a significantly higher degree of satisfaction than the control group (
P
<
0.05).
Conclusions
2
Compared with traditional teaching methods
immersive teaching provided by VR technology has a better teaching effect in the training of first-aid theoretical knowledge and operation skills among students and significantly improves the learning interest and participation of students. Therefore
it has an important application value in the battlefield first-aid training of combat maxillofacial trauma.
