Exploration of and insights from the training model of residents in radiation oncology at Harvard Medical School
This article takes the Harvard Oncologist Training Program as an example and introduces its training model from the aspects of comprehensive clinical training
emphasis on scientific research ability cultivation
professional development opportunities
interdisciplinary team cooperation
advanced technology application
high-quality educational resources
cultural and ethical education
and integration of science and education. The key characteristics of Harvard Oncologist Training are the emphasis on the combination of theory and practice
the mutual promotion of clinical and scientific research
and the commitment to forming a good medical teaching and research ecology. This cyclic and progressive training philosophy
from accumulating experience in clinical work to conducting scientific research and innovation
and then feeding back into clinical practice
is conducive to cultivating compound oncology medical talents with solid theoretical foundations
strong clinical abilities
and innovative consciousness. This approach offers valuable lessons for the training of radiation oncologists in China.
