Effectiveness of a cardiopulmonary resuscitation intelligent training mini program in enhancing comprehensive first aid competence of trainee nurses
To quantitatively assess the effectiveness of first aid training based on a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) intelligent training mini program in enhancing the CPR knowledge and operation skills of trainee nurses
and qualitatively explore their subjective experience of gamified first aid training and the underlying mechanisms promoting their comprehensive first aid competence.
Methods
2
The convenience sampling method was used to select 453 trainee nurses from the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University between June 2023 and March 2025 as the study subjects. The 210 trainee nurses trained between June 2023 and March 2024 were included in the control group and the 243 trainee nurses trained between June 2024 and March 2025 were included in the experimental group. The control group received traditional training and the experimental group received training based on the mini program. Training effectiveness was evaluated using a CPR theoretical knowledge test and a CPR operation assessment form and the results before and after the intervention were compared. A two-sample
t
-test was performed using SPSS 21.0 software. Fifteen trainee nurses were interviewed face-to-face using a descriptive phenomenological method. The Colaizzi's seven-step analysis method was used to explore their subjective experiences and feelings when participating in gamified CPR first aid training.
Results
2
The results of the study showed that
after training
the mean scores for the CPR
knowledge test (90.86±5.20) and the operational skills assessment (93.50±2.91) of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group (

and areas for improvement regarding scene authenticity
interactive experience
network equipment
and game difficulty.
Conclusions
2
With the help of digital intervention tools
CPR training based on the mini program effectively improves the comprehensive first aid competence of trainee nurses
realizes precise training
and provides a practical basis for the digital transformation of clinical nursing education. It is therefore worthy of promotion and wider application in clinical teaching.
