Analysis of theoretical examination scores and test paper based on the American Heart Association advanced cardiovascular life support training course
To evaluate the theoretical examination scores and test paper analysis results for residents at Peking University Third Hospital who participated in the advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) training course of American Heart Association
explore the factors affecting the theoretical examination scores
and provide a basis for the establishment of a scientific ACLS teaching and training system.
Methods
2
A total of 60 resident physicians who participated in ACLS training between January 2018 and December 2022 were selected to record their theoretical examination scores. The total score of the ACLS theoretical examination was 100 points
and a score of 84 or above was considered qualified. The quality of the theoretical test paper was evaluated by difficulty coefficient
discrimination coefficient
and classification. The factors affecting the theoretical examination scores were determined using multivariable analysis of variance. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 25.0.
Results
2
The average score of all residents was (88.77±5.78) points
the lowest score was 74 points
the highest score was 100 points
and the overall qualified rate was 83.33%. The difficulty coefficient of ACLS test paper was 0.15
and the discrimination coefficient was 0.20. The overall difficulty and discrimination of the test paper were moderate
but the difficulty and differentiation of individual test items were unbalanced
. The results of multivariable analysis of variance showed that the score of theoretical examination was closely related to clinical specialty and previous ACLS training experience (
P
<
0.05).
Conclusions
2
The ACLS theoretical test paper basically met the examination requirements. In future training programs
it is recommended to implement individualized training plans tailored to physicians from different specialties.
