Current situation and influencing factors of evidence-based nursing ability among nurses with junior professional titles
To explore the current situation and influencing factors of evidence-based nursing ability of nurses with junior professional titles in China
and provide a reference for carrying out targeted ability improvement training.
Methods
2
Convenience sampling was used to select 1 217 nurses from 175 hospitals in 31 provinces
autonomous regions
and municipalities in China. Data were collected using a general data questionnaire
an Evidence-Based Nursing Competency Scale
a Physician-Nurse Cooperation Behavior Scale
and a Creative Self-Efficacy Scale. SPSS 26.0 was used to perform non-parametric tests (Mann-Whitney
U
test and Kruskal-Wallis
H
test). Spearman rank correlation test was used for correlation analysis. Logistic stepwise regression was used for multivariate analysis.
Results
2
The scores of nurses with junior professional titles were 48.00 (23.00
65.00) for evidence-based nursing ability
84.00(74.00
95.00) for physician-nurse
cooperation behavior
and 15.00 (12.00
16.00) for creative self-efficacy. Univariable analysis showed significant differences in the score of evidence-based nursing ability based on age
working years
educational level
marital status
participation in scientific research
and exposure to evidence-based training (
P
<
0.05). Correlation analysis showed that the total score of physician-nurse cooperation behavior (
r
=0.315
P
<
0.01) and the total score of creative self-efficacy (
r
=0.473
P
<
0.01) were positively correlated with the total score of evidence-based nursing ability. Logistic regression analysis showed significant differences in age
exposure to evidence-based training
physician-nurse cooperation behavior
and creative self-efficacy (
P
<
0.01).
Conclusions
2
The evidence-based nursing ability of junior nurses is at relatively low levels
while their physician-nurse cooperation behavior and creative self-efficacy are at moderate levels. Managers should pay attention to the training of young nurses for evidence-based nursing ability
encourage communication and cooperation between physicians and nurses
and actively create an atmosphere of scientific research and innovation to improve the evidence-based nursing ability of nurses with junior professional titles.
