Progress and prospects of neurorehabilitation for patients with prolonged disorders of consciousness
Prolonged disorders of consciousness (pDOC) and its long rehabilitation process are difficult problems in clinical practice. This review mainly introduces the clinical characteristics of neurorehabilitation in patients with chronic disorders of consciousness
and summarizes the rehabilitation treatment techniques from the pathogenic pattern of pDOC
clinical manifestations
and particularity of consciousness recovery sequence
as well as common complications that may interfere with rehabilitation progress
and discusses the existing problems such as the formulation principles of rehabilitation programs
treatment intensity
and time arrangement.
