Intraoperative in situ recognition of brain glioma in mice based on terahertz spectroscopy
摘要
Abstract
Objective
2
To explore the technical feasibility of intraoperative positioning and qualitative diagnosis of brain gliomas using terahertz spectroscopy.
Method
2
At an air humidity of 10%
a reflective full-fiber terahertz time-domain spectrum system was used to obtain terahertz time-domain pulse signals of mouse brain
gliomas and normal brain tissues on the surface of the cerebral hemisphere. The spectral parameters of the gliomas and normal brain tissues were extracted and analyzed for their differences for
in situ
recognition of the tumors.
Results
2
Normal mouse brain tissues and brain gliomas showed significantly different refractivity within the range of 0.4 to 0.6 THz and significantly different absorption coefficients within the range of 0.4 to 0.9 THz.The tumor and normal brain tissues could be effectively recognized and positioned based on the differences of the parameters of terahertz spectroscopy.
Conclusion
2
Our preliminary findings verify the possibility of using terahertz spectroscopy for intraoperative
in situ
recognition of gliomas to provide assistance in precision tumor resection.
