Abstract
Objective
2
To study the anti-hypoxic effect of methazolamide (MTZ) and its prevention of acute high altitude reaction.
Methods
2
After the mice were intragastrically infused with MTZ
closed hypoxia experiment
myocardial hypoxia experiment
cerebral ischemia and hypoxia experiment and sodium nitrite poisoning experiment were used to determine the survival time in closed hypoxia
myocardial hypoxia tolerance time
mouth movement time after decapitation
and survival time of sodium nitrite poisoning. After the volunteers who took MTZ or placebo in high altitude
the heart rate
blood oxygen saturation and the incidence of acute altitude sickness were compared.
Results
2
The different doses of MTZ (400
200 and 100 mg/kg) significantly prolonged the closed hypoxia survival time than the control mice without treatment [25.01(2.40)

Conclusion
2
MTZ improves body's ability to resist hypoxia and effectively prevents the occurrence of acute high-altitude disease.
