Laparoscopic treatment for congenital colpatresia in adolescence with normal uterus: clinical analysis of 21 cases
To investigate the feasibility of laparoscopic technique in treatment of congenital colpatresia in adolescence with normal uterus.
Methods
2
Clinical and follow-up data of 21 cases of congenital colpatresia complicated with normal uterus in adolescence admitted in our department between February 2008 and December 2015 were retrospectively collected. All patients underwent surgical procedure of cutting a part of pelvic ligaments and uterovestibular anastomosis with the aid of laparoscopy. Surgical procedures
menstruation and quality of sexual life were analyzed.
Results
2
There were 12 cases of type Ⅰ vaginal atresia and 9 cases of type Ⅱ. All the procedures were operated under laparoscope with preservation of uterus. The average operation time was 67.1(44~129) min
intra-operative blood loss was 67.4(20~200) mL
and the average postoperative length of hospital stay was 6.4(4~11) d. No injuries of bladder and rectum or complications occurred in the patients. Two patients were lost in follow-up
and the other 19 patients were followed up for 4~62 months. All the 19 patients (100%) had their menses recovered
and 4 (1 with congenital colpatresia
and the other 3 with lower vaginal atresia) were satisfied with their sex life.
Conclusion
2
It is a thorny problem for the treatment of congenital colpatresia complicated with normal uterus in adolescence. Laparoscopy-assistant surgical treatment might be an effect approach for its treatment.
