Clinical efficacy of biodegradable anastomotic device in intestinal surgery
To investigate the clinical application value of biodegradable anastomotic device in intestinal surgery.
Methods
2
A total of 100 patients who underwent intestinal surgery in our hospital from August 2020 to August 2024 were enrolled and randomly divided into the biodegradable anastomotic device group (
n
=50) and the conventional anastomotic device group (
n
=50) using a random number table method. The incidence of complications and mortality within 1 month after surgery, visual analogue scale (VAS) score of postoperative anal discomfort, defecation habits, generic quality of life inventory-74 (GQOLI-74) score, length of hospital stay, medical costs and satisfaction were compared between
the two groups.
Results
2
All 100 enrolled patients completed intestinal surgery and postoperative follow-up without loss to follow-up. The total incidence of complications within 1 month after surgery in the biodegradable anastomotic device group was lower than that in the conventional anastomotic device group (
P
<
0.05).There was no significant difference in mortality within 1 month after surgery between the two groups (
P
>
0.05). At 1 month after surgery, the VAS scores of anal discomfort in both groups were lower than those at 24 hours after surgery (
P
<
0.05), and the VAS score in the biodegradable anastomotic device group was lower than that in the conventional anastomotic device group(
P
<
0.05). At 1 month after surgery, the daily defecation frequencies in both groups were lower than those at 24 hours after surgery (
P
<
0.05), and the proportions of patients with abnormal stool consistency, difficult defecation and sensation of incomplete defecation were lower than those at 24 hours after surgery (
P
<
0.05). The daily defecation frequency in the biodegradable anastomotic device group was lower than that in the conventional anastomotic device group(
P
<
0.05), and the proportions of patients with abnormal stool consistency and sensation of incomplete defecation were lower than those in the conventional anastomotic device group(
P
<
0.05). At 1 month after surgery, the scores of physical function, psychological function, social function, material life status and total GQOLI-74 score in both groups were higher than those at 24 hours after surgery (
P
<
0.05), and the scores of all the above indicators in the biodegradable anastomotic device group were higher than those in the conventional anastomotic device group(
P
<
0.05). Compared with the conventional anastomotic device group, the biodegradable anastomot
ic device group had a significantly shorter length of hospital stay, lower medical costs and higher postoperative satisfaction (
P
<
0.05).
Conclusion
2
Biodegradable anastomotic device is superior to conventional anastomotic device in reducing the incidence of postoperative complications, improving defecation habits and quality of life in patients undergoing intestinal surgery, which can shorten the length of hospital stay, reduce medical costs and improve overall satisfaction.
