Correlation between degree of acromial inclination and subacromial impingement syndrome
To analyze the correlation between the degree of acromial inclination and subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS) by measuring the lateral acromial angle and acromial tilt.
Methods
2
The anteropos
terior and "Y" position X-ray imaging data of the shoulder joint of 44 SIS patients (the SIS group) and 40 normal adults (the control group) admitted to Cangzhou People's Hospital were retrospective analyzed. The lateral acromial angle and acromial tilt of patients in the two groups were measured and compared. The diagnostic efficacy of lateral acromial angle and acromial tilt for SIS was analyzed by
receiver operating characteristic
(
ROC
) curve.
Results
2
The lateral acromion angle and acromion tilt of patients in the SIS group were smaller than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (
P
<
0.05). The
area under the ROC
curve
of the lateral acromial angle was 0.796, with a sensitivity of 55.0% and a specificity of 95.5%; The
area under the ROC curve
of the acromial tilt was 0.688, with a sensitivity of 42.5% and a specificity of 90.9%; The sensitivity and specificity of the combined diagnosis of the two were 70.0% and 97.7%, respectively, both of which were higher than the diagnostic efficiency of single index.
Conclusion
2
The lateral acromion angle and acromion tilt are both associated with SIS, and both factors need to be considered comprehensively during surgical treatment for acromioplasty. In addition, the lateral acromion angle and acromion tilt have certain value for the diagnosis of SIS, and the combined diagnostic performance is better.
