[Abstract] Objective To explore the feasibility and practical value of integration humanistic care concept into clinical PBL teaching. Methods 112 medical students practiced in the Department of colorectal surgery

were randomly divided into the experimental group(n=60) who received the PBL integrated with the humanistic care

and the control group(n=52) who just received the PBL teaching. After the end of the internship

the theoretical examination

operation examination and patient satisfaction survey were taken to judge the effect of the two groups. The obtained data were statistically analyzed by GraphPad Prism 6 software

and t-test was used for the two groups. Results The score of the medical history and operation skills in the experimental group was significantly better than the control group，and P values were 0.0023 and 0.0374. However

there was no difference in the theoretical examination and medical record writing between the two groups. The patients’ satisfaction degree of the service attitude

trust and communication skills in the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group，and P values were 0.0016

0.0069 and 0.0004 respectively. But there was no significant difference in the operating skill and the arrangement of medical procedures. Conclusion The mode of integration the humanistic care into PBL teaching about the colorectal diseases can improve the clinical operating ability of the students

and improve the patients’ satisfaction.
