Endocrine and metabolic disease including representative disease such as type 2 diabetes mellitus is a professional discipline with complex knowledge system and clinical guidelines. Satisfactory teaching results are often difficult to be achieved using traditional teaching methods owing to the complicated pathogenesis of endocrine and metabolic disease. In this context

team based learning teaching combined with case teaching based on evidence-based medicine was applied in the actual class teaching. The class was divided into several groups and the students were encouraged to discuss and study from each other with the guidance of teachers. Consequently

students' learning interests and spirit of teamwork were greatly enhanced
