The results of endomyocardial biopsy done in 57 cases of cardiac diseases were presented.Int- racardiae biopsy by a modified fibreoptic biopsy forceps used in gastroscopy was carried out in these patients.Successful rate of this method was 84.20%.Positive diagnostic rate 80.7%.Two of 57 patients complained of sudden pain in the chest when the myocardium was pinched

but there were no subsequent problems.Another had transient arrhythmias. On basis of the results of our study and the data from literature

endomyocardial biopsy has become a useful and safe method to help establishing the diagnosis of endocardial or myocardial diseases.
