wo different methods were used to prepare the outer memoberane proteins of bacteroidesragilis
which were treated with EDTA in Method One and with Triton in Method Two
the resultohowed that Method Two was better than Method One. The TYiton-insoluble outer memberaneproteins of five strains of Bacteroides and one strain of Fusobacterium were examined withSDS-PAGE and analysed comparatively. The patterns produced by strains belonging to the samespecies were very similiar and those produced by strains belonging to different species and genuswere different except the similiarity between the pattern produced by Bacteroides fragilis and thatby Bacteroide gingivalis.
