SUCCESSFUL MICROENCAPSULATED PURIFIED NEONATAL PORCINE ISLETS TRANSPLANT FOR THE TREATMENT OF DIABETIC RATS
urified neonatal porcine islets encapsulated in the immtino-isolated membrane were transplanted in-traperitoneally into elght streptozotocin induced diabetic rats. The effective rates
88%and 50%were com-plete remission. The longest normoglycemic period in thOse rats was over 1 80 days
There was no effect incontrol group. Those prove that the immuno-isolated Tnembrane encapsulated neonatal porcine islets may notbe in jured by the rejection during xenotransplantation and is ready for clinical use in the treatment of diabetitpatients.
