Objective lt is often required to control heavy bleeding during cesarean section. The objective of thia study is to evaluate whether uterine pacbing is a more easy and effective method than performing hysterectomy. Treatment:From January 1981 to March 1994 42 patients with heavy bleeding during cesarean section were treated with uterine packing.Major factors responsible for bleeding were uterine atony and placenta previa. The average blood loas was 1509.2ml. The mean time interval from packing to removal of the gauze was 25.86 hours. Results:The average blood loss from packing to removal pack was 166.29ml. After removal of gauze no postpartum hemorrhage recurred. Conclusion :Uterine packing is a simple and effective method for controlling of uterint bleeding during cesarean section.
