Comparative study of the effect and side-effects of common and small dose amiodarone on cardioversion for atrial fibrillation
Objective: To observe the effect and side-effects of common and small dose amiodarone on cardioversion for atrial fibrillation. Methods: 122 patients with atrial fibrillation were randomly divided into treatment group(small dose amiodarone
0.1~0.2g/ per day) and control group(common dose amiodarone
0.3~0.4g/ per day). After 6 months
the effect and side-effects of common and small dose amiodarone on cardioversion for atrial fibrillation were compared. Results: The cardioversion and control rates of atrial fibrillation were no significant difference between 2 groups (P>0.05)
but the incidence of side-effects of amiodarone in treatment group was lower than that in control group (P<0.01). Conclusion: small dose amiodarone is effective for treatment of atrial fibrillation and the incidence of side-effects of small dose amiodarone is lower than that of common dose amiodarone.
