The clinical significance of measurement of serum cholyglycine in patients with hyperthyroidism
Objective:To study the clinical value of measurement of serum cholyglycine(CG)in the patients with hyperthyroidism to evaluate thyrotoxic hepatic damages. Methods:The levers of serum CG and ALT of 50 healthy volunteers(as control group)and 195 patients with hyperthyroidism were measured by radioimmunassay(RIA).Results:Serum CG levels in the patients with hyperthyroidism(including the preliminary diagnosis group and unrelieved group)were distinctly higher than those in control group and cured hyperthyroidism group(P<0.01);it was distinctly higher in unrelieved group than that in preliminary diagnosis group with hyperthyroidism(P<0.01)
and there was no distinct difference between the control group and cured hyperthyroidism group in serum CG(P>0.05).The change of serum CG was accordant with ALT.There was favourable correlation between the serum CG and serum thyroxine. Conclusion:Serum CG is a sensitive and specific index to evaluate the thyrotoxic hepatic damages
and the level of serum CG is correlative with the disease course and the level of serum thyroxine.
