α-SMA,TGFβ1 in tissues on the surface of cavernosa of ventral penis with penile ventral curvature
Objective:To evaluate the pathological characteristics of tissues on the surface of cavernosa of ventral penis with ventral curvature and to investigate the etiology of congenital ventral curved hypospadias.Methods:α-smooth musle actin(α-SMA)
transforming growth factorβ1(TGFβ1) in tissue sections of 23cases of hypospadias with penile ventral curvature
3 concealed penis and 3 somatic scar were detected by immunohistochemical method of SABC.Result:The expressions of α-SMA
TGFβ1 in hypospadic ventral areas were markedly higher than those in normal and scar tissues(P<0.05).Conclusions:Rich fibrous tissues are present in the hypospadic specimens analysed
which possibly contributes to penile curvature of hypospadias.
