Objective:To investigate the incidence and sex difference of Bolton ratios and Pont index of malocclusion of Angle Class Ⅱ Division 2 so as to provide some references for orthetic treatment. Methods:This study was performed for dental casts of 65 patients’of Class Ⅱ Division 2. The incidence of Bolton ratio and Pont index were calculated. SPSS 10.0 was applied for comparisons between different sexes. Results:In malocclusion of Class Ⅱ Division 2

the percentage of Bolton ratio distribution was:the group of the minor Bolton ratio >the group of the normal Bolton ratio >the group of the major Bolton ratio

and the percentage of Pont index distribution was the group of the major Pont index> the group of the normal Pont index > the group of the minor Pont index

while both the Bolton ratio and Pont index presented no significant difference between sexes. Conclusion:Dental cast should be measured before the therapy for malocclusion of Class Ⅱ Division 2.
