The expression and clinical significance of CD24 in human gastric carcinoma
Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expression of CD24 protein and carcinogenesis
development
the grade
clinical stage
depth of invasion
lymphnode metastasis of gastric carcinoma.Methods:CD24 protein expression of 56 gastric carcinomas were analysed by SP immunohistochemistry. The expression of CD24 protein was shown by the positive cells rate. Results:The positive rate of CD24 protein expression in gastric carcinoma tissues was 80.36%
obviously higher than 30.36% in the normal gastric tissue. The higher the grade
the lymphnode metastasis and the clinical stage of tumor were
the higher the expression of CD24 protein. And the differences amony each groups were statistically significant. Conclusion:The expression of CD24 protein has positive correlation with depth of invasion
lymphnode metastasis and the TNM stage of gastric carcinoma. The expression of CD24 protein may play a significant role in the development of the gastric carcinoma and be a prognostic marker for disease-free survival in the gastric carcinoma.
