Improvement of establishing the animal model of pancreaticoduodenal transplantation in the rat
Objective:To improve the efficiency of establishing the animal model of pancreaticoduodenal transplantation(PDT) in the rat
so as to lay the foundation for the basic and clinical research of pancreas transplantation. Methods:Pancreatic allograft from SD rats was transplanted to Wistar recipients
which was performed in 40 rats. The recipients were operated without clamping inferior vena cava or aorta ventralis. The portal vein of the graft was anastomosed with the recipient’s left renal vein by cuff technique while the aorta ventralis of the graft was anastomosed with the recipient’s left renal artery by the same technique. Results:In the 40 models
the average time of donor operation was(68±4) minutes while recipient operation was(55±4) minutes. The anastomosis time of vein with cuff technique was(6±1) minutes while the time of artery was(5±1) minutes. There were minor histological changes;the function of the graft recovered after operation
and the operative successful rate was 90%.Conclusion:This technique improves the efficiency of the model establishment by simplifying the procedures of vascular anastomosis and reducing the complication of massive hemorrhage after operation.
