OBJECTIVE： To provide reference for improving the teaching quality of Pharmaceutical English in higher vocational colleges. METHODS：The implementation plan was improved by improving course setting， optimize the teaching staff and choosing teaching case， and case teaching mode was applied from brief exploration of new knowledge before class， internalization of new knowledge in class and consolidation of new knowledge after class， then evaluation system was established to evaluate the students’ learning. RESULTS： The ways to improve the implementation plan included adjusting the ratio of Public English to Pharmaceutical English was 2 ∶ 1，training pharmaceutical English teachers by multi-measures and multi-channels， writing Higher Vocational Medicine English and Pharmaceutical English Case based on specific situation； the application of case teaching mode specifically included cooperation preview in groups before class， guided learning by teachers in class and writing case summary reports after class； the established multi-dimensional scientific evaluation system could objectively reflect the learning situation. CONCLUSIONS： Case teaching mode teaching can cultivate students' self-learning ability and team spirit， improve learning motivation and oral proficiency， and promote teachers’ self-improvement.
