Effect of targeted rehabilitation training care in patients with dysphagia via dysphagia handicap index
Objective To analyze the effect of targeted rehabilitation training care in the care of patients with dysphagia via Dysphagia Handicap Index(DHI) score
so as to provide a reference for clinical treatment. Methods Eighty-two patients with dysphagia who visited Henan Provincial People’s Hospital from October 2019 to July 2021 were selected as the study subjects. The patients were randomly assigned to the observation group(n=41) and control group(n=41). Patients in the control group received routine care
and patients in the observation group targeted rehabilitation training care based on DHI scores. Self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)
self-rating depression scale(SDS)
DHI
and the Swallowing Quality of Life(SWAL-QOL) questionnaire scores were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. The incidence of adverse reactions during the intervention was compared between the 2 groups. Results Before the intervention
there was no significant difference in SAS and SDS scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After the intervention
SAS and SDS scores in the two groups were significantly lower than those before the intervention
with the observation group lower than the control group(P<0.05). Before the intervention
there was no significant difference in DHI and SWAL-QOL scores between the two groups(P>0.05). After the intervention
the DHI and SWAL-QOL scores in the two groups were significantly higher than those before the intervention
with the observation group higher than the control group(P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Targeted rehabilitation training care based on DHI scores in patients with dysphagia can effectively relieve patients’ negative emotions
ameliorate clinical symptoms
increase patients’ quality of life
and further reduce the incidence of adverse reactions
with marked clinical effects. These benefits justify a wider application of this technique in clinical practice.
