Effect of exercise prescription combined with diet intervention on postpartum weight management of parturients
Objective To investigate the value of exercise prescription combined with diet intervention in postpartum weight management of parturients
so as to provide a reference for clinical practice. Methods A total of 142 parturients admitted to the Third People’s Hospital of Bengbu from January 2020 to January 2021 were selected as the study subjects. The parturients were assigned to the intervention group and control group by random number table
with 71 cases in each group. Parturients in the control group underwent corresponding exercise training or diet adjustment following their own wishes after delivery
without any intervention conducted by researchers. Parturients in the intervention group received maternal exercise prescriptions combined with dietary intervention. BMI
body fat percentage
waist-to-hip ratio
adiponectin
and leptin levels were compared between the 2 groups before and at 6 months of intervention. Results Before the intervention
there was no significant difference in BMI
body fat percentage
and waist-to-hip ratio between the two groups(P >0.05). At 6 months of intervention
maternal BMI
body fat percentage
and waist-to-hip ratio in the 2 groups were significantly lower than those before the intervention
with the intervention group significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05). Before the intervention
there was no significant difference in adiponectin and leptin levels between the 2 groups(P>0.05). At 6 months of intervention
maternal adiponectin and leptin levels in both groups were significantly higher than those before the intervention
with the intervention group significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Exercise prescription in combination with diet intervention can effectively reduce the postpartum body weight
reduce the occurrence of body weight retention
and improve the health status of parturients
with marked effect. These benefits hold promise for a wider application in clinical practice.
