Effectiveness of comprehensive nursing in patients with herpes zoster
Objective To explore the effectiveness of comprehensive nursing in patients with herpes zoster. Methods A total of 120 patients with herpes zoster admitted to a hospital in Henan Province from January 2020 to December 2021 were selected as subjects
who were assigned to a control group(60 cases) and an observation group(60 cases) using the random number table method. The patients in the control group received conventional nursing and the patients in the observation group comprehensive nursing. The time to stop blistering
crusting time and pain relief time as well as the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Dermatology Quality of Life Scale(DQOLS) scores before and after nursing(at the time of discharge) of the patients in the 2 groups were used as the primary assessment indexes. The post-nursing complication rate and nursing satisfaction of the patients in the 2 groups were used as secondary assessment indexes. Results The time to stop blistering
crusting time and pain relief time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group
and all differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the VAS and DQOLS scores between patients in the 2 groups before nursing(P>0.05); the VAS and DQOLS scores of patients in the 2 groups after nursing were lower than those before nursing
with the observation group lower than the control group
and differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The complication rate of patients in the observation group was 6.67%
which was lower than that in the control group(18.33%)
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The total rate of nursing satisfaction in the observation group was 95.00%
which was higher than that in the control group(83.33%)
and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05). Conclusion Comprehensive nursing has high application value in patients with herpes zoster
which can enhance the effectiveness while largely reduce the incidence of adverse reactions and thus improving the prognosis of patients. These advantages justify a wider application of this procedure clinically.
