Objective To investigate the effect of Danshen Chuanxiongzin injection combined with edaravone in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction and its efficacy on patients’ neurological function

activity of daily living and the occurrence of adverse reactions.Methods Eighty patients with acute cerebral infarction admitted to a hospital in Zhumadian from December 2019 to June 2021 were selected as subjects and randomly divided into a control group（n=35） and a study group（n=45） via the random number table method.Patients in the control group received conventional treatment

while patients in the study group received danshen chuanxiongzin injection combined with edaravone

and both groups were treated continuously for 14 d.The NIHSS scores and ADL scores were compared before and after treatment

and the occurrence of adverse effects during treatment was compared between the two groups.Results The NIHSS scores after treatment were lower in both groups than before treatment and lower in the study group than those in the control group

and the ADL scores were higher than those before treatment and higher in the study group than those in the control group

and the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.The incidence of adverse reactions was 6.67% in the study group

which was lower than that in the control group（17.14%）

and the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）.Conclusion Danshen Chuanxiongzin injection in combination with edaravone can significantly improve the degree of neurological impairment and activities of daily living in patients with acute cerebral infarction

which is a safe therapy

and can be the preferred treatment for patients with acute cerebral infarction.
