Objective To explore the application of the holistic nursing management model-based careful nursing intervention in children with pneumonia.Methods A total of 200 children with pneumonia admitted to the pediatric ward of a hospital in Wuhan from June 2019 to June 2021 were selected as the subjects and assigned to a study group（n=100）

who received careful nursing intervention based on the holistic nursing management model

and a control group（n=100）

who received conventional care.Both groups received continuous intervention for 2 weeks.The symptom subsidence time of children between the two groups was compared

and the levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein（hs-CRP）

procalcitonin（PCT）

and interleukin-6（IL-6） were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention.Satisfactory sleep quality during the intervention was compared.Results The subsidence time of expectoration

wheezing

pulmonary rales and cough symptoms in the study group was shorter than that in the control group

and the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.After the intervention

the levels of PCT

hs-CRP and IL-6 in the two groups were lower than those before the intervention

and the study group was lower than the control group

and the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.The satisfactory sleep quality rate of children in the study group during the intervention was 96.00%

which was higher than 84.00% in the control group

and the difference was statistically significant（χ2=8.000

P=0.005）.Conclusion The holistic nursing management model-based careful nursing intervention is effective in children with pneumonia.It can effectively shorten the time for symptom improvement

improve the sleep quality of children and reduce local inflammatory response

which is worthy of clinical application.
