Objective To explore the effectiveness of whole course nursing intervention in the nursing of patients receiving thoracoscopic lung cancer surgery.Methods A total of 80 lung cancer patients admitted to a hospital in Liaoyang City from April 2020 to April 2021 were selected as subjects and assigned to a study group and a control group by random number table method

with 40 cases in each group.The patients in the control group received conventional nursing

and the patients in the study group received whole course nursing on the basis of conventional nursing.The operation time

intraoperative bleeding and length of stay of the two groups were compared;the scores of the quality of life assessment scale before nursing and at discharge were compared between the two groups;the nursing satisfaction at discharge was compared between the two groups.Results Patients in the study group had less intraoperative bleeding than the control group and shorter operation time and length of stay than the control group

and the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.Before nursing

there was no statistically significant difference in the scores of social function

physical function

psychological function and material life in the quality of life assessment scale of patients between the 2 groups（P>0.05）.At the time of discharge

the scores of social function

physical function

psychological function

and material life in the quality of life assessment scale of patients in the 2 groups were higher than those before nursing

with the study group having higher scores than the control group

and the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）.The patients satisfaction in the study group was 97.50%

which was higher than that in the control group（70.00%）

the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）.Conclusion The application of total nursing intervention in patients receiving thoracoscopic lung cancer surgery is effective in shortening the operation time and length of stay

reducing intraoperative bleeding

and improving patients satisfaction

which is worthy of clinical promotion.
