Efficacy of AIDET communication nursing in gastrointestinal polyps undergoing painless endoscopic high-frequency electrocoagulation
Objective To explore the efficacy of AIDET communication nursing intervention in the care of patients with gastrointestinal polyps undergoing painless endoscopy high-frequency electrocoagulation. Methods Ninety patients with gastrointestinal polyps treated with painless endoscopic high-frequency electrocoagulation in a hospital in Henan Province from June 2019 to December 2020 were selected for this study. A random number table was used to divide the patients into the study group and the control group
with 45 cases in each group. The patients in the control group received conventional care
and the patients in the study group were given AIDET communication nursing intervention based on the care in the control group. The self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and self-rating depression scale(SDS) scores of patients in the 2 groups were compared; the self-efficacy scale and the treatment compliance survey scale scores of patients in the 2 groups were compared at discharge. Results Before care
there was no statistically significant difference between the SAS and SDS scores of the 2 groups(P>0.05). At the time of discharge
the SAS and SDS scores of patients in both groups were lower than those before treatment and lower in the study group than in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The scores for basic knowledge of disease
perception of risk of adverse factors
knowledge of treatment
knowledge of self-management
and knowledge of complication prevention in the self-efficacy scale were higher in the study group than in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The scores for preoperative preparation
anesthesia
intraoperative and postoperative diet
postoperative life and rest
and emotions as well as the total scores in the treatment compliance survey scale of patients in the study group were all higher than those of the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion AIDET communication nursing intervention for patients with gastrointestinal polyps undergoing painless endoscopic high-frequency electrocoagulation can effectively relieve patients’ negative emotions
improve patients’ treatment compliance
and further strengthen patients’ self-efficacy at the same time
with significant clinical effect
and is worthy of wider clinical application.
