Effects of edaravone combined with cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin on neurological function and serum inflammatory factor levels in patients with severe craniocerebral injury
Objective To investigate the effects of edaravone combined with cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin on neurological function and serum inflammatory factor levels in patients with severe craniocerebral injury. Methods Eighty-eight patients with severe craniocerebral injury admitted to a hospital in Pingdingshan from August 2018 to October 2020 were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group using the random number table method
with 44 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin on the basis of symptomatic treatment
and the patients in the observation group were treated with edaravone on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated continuously for 14 d. The clinical efficacy
neurological function and serum interleukin-6(IL-6)
interleukin-8(IL-8) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) levels of the patients in the two groups were compared before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 97.73%
which was higher than that in the control group(81.82%)
and the difference was statistically significant(χ~2=4.456
P=0.035). the NIHSS score in the two groups was lower than that before treatment and lower in the observation group than in the control group
and the ADL and Fugl-Meyer scores were higher than that before treatment and higher in the observation group than in the control group
all with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The serum levels of IL-6
IL-8 and TNF-α were lower in both groups than before treatment and lower in the observation group than in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). Conclusion Edaravone combined with cattle encephalon glycoside and ignotin can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of patients with severe craniocerebral injury
reduce the levels of serum inflammatory factors
improve the neurological function of patients
and contribute to the recovery of the disease.
