Objective To investigate the effect of risk preventive care on pediatric nursing risk events and nursing satisfaction. Methods This study selected 102 cases of children admitted to the pediatric department of a hospital in Henan Province from February 2019 to February 2021 as the study subjects. The children were divided into a study group（n=51） and a conventional group（n=51） using the random number table method. Conventional pediatric care measures were given to the children in the conventional group. The children in the study group were given risk preventive care on the basis of the care in the conventional group. We compared the cooperation of the children in the two groups

the occurrence of adverse events

and the satisfaction of the families of the children in the two groups. Results The degree of cooperation of the children in the study group was 94.12%

which was higher than that in the conventional group（76.47%）

and the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）. The incidence of adverse events in the children in the study group was 1.96%

which was lower than that of 19.60% in the conventional group

and the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）. The satisfaction rate for nursing of the families of children in the study group was 98.04%

which was higher than that of 84.31% in the conventional group

and the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）. Conclusion Risk preventive care applied to pediatric safety management can improve the quality of risk prevention

and reduce the incidence of adverse events in children; it is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
