Study on the effect of health education combined with systematic nursing on bone marrow suppression after chemotherapy in lung cancer patients
Objective To study the effect of health education combined with systematic care on bone marrow suppression after chemotherapy in lung cancer patients. Methods Eighty patients with bone marrow suppression complicating lung cancer after chemotherapy treated in a hospital in Anyang from June 2019 to December 2020 were selected as study subjects and divided into an observation group and a control group by computer randomized grouping method
40 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were given systematic nursing care after chemotherapy
and the observation group implemented health education nursing on the basis of the control group
and patients in the 2 groups were nursed for 30 d.The karnofsky performance scale(KPS) scores and performance status(PS) scores of the patients in both groups were compared before and after care
and the incidence of infection and quality of life(QOL) scores of the patients in both groups were compared. Results Before nursing care
there was no statistically significant difference between the KPS and PS scores of patients in the 2 groups(P>0.05).After care
the KPS scores of the two groups were significantly higher than those before care
and the observation group was higher than the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);the PS scores of the two groups were significantly lower than those before care
and the observation group was lower than the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The infection rate of patients in the observation group was 7.50%(3/40)
which was significantly lower than that of the control group(20.00%
8/40)
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The QOL scores of patients in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Health education combined with systematic care significantly improved the pulmonary function and performance status of patients with bone marrow suppression after lung cancer chemotherapy
while also effectively controlling their risk of infection
leading to better quality of life and better prognosis
which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
