Effect of psychological intervention on quality of life and emotions of patients with chronic kidney disease
Objective To explore the effect of psychological intervention on the quality of life and emotions of patients with chronic kidney disease. Methods A total of 152 patients with chronic kidney disease admitted to a hospital in Liaoning Province from January 2018 to August 2020 were selected and divided into experimental group(n=77) and control group(n=75) using random number table method. Patients in the control group received conventional nursing interventions on the basis of symptomatic drug therapy
and patients in the experimental group were given psychological intervention on the basis of the control group. The patients in the 2 groups were compared in terms of compliance during treatment and quality of life
SAS and SDS scores
blood urea nitrogen(BUN)
creatinine(Cr)
and glomerular filtration rate(GFR) levels before and after 3 weeks of intervention. Results After the intervention
KDQOL-SFTM symptoms and problems
nephropathy impact
nephropathy stress
work status
cognitive function
social quality
sexual function
sleep
social support scores were higher in the 2 groups than before the intervention
and the experimental group had higher scores than the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P
<
0.05). After the intervention
the SAS and SDS scores were lower than those before the intervention
and the experimental group was lower than the control group. The differences were all statistically significant(P
<
0.05). the BUN and Cr levels were lower than those before the intervention and the experimental group was lower than the control group
and the GFR was higher than before the intervention and the experimental group was higher than the control group
and the differences were all statistically significant(P
<
0.05). The treatment compliance rate of patients in the experimental group was 98.70%
which was higher than that of the control group(89.33%)
and the difference was statistically significant(χ
2
=4.422
P=0.035). Conclusion Psychological interventions used in patients with chronic kidney disease can improve patients’ quality of life
mood and treatment compliance
and are beneficial to patients’ renal function recovery.
